College Intern Technical Challenges

Tips:

• Do not overthink this. Set a goal of planning and recording in 15 minutes and uploading to YouTube in 5 minutes.
• Less content with better organization and explanation beats a rushed "data dump." Take a breath and just talk.
• We expect a selfie, not a professional video shoot. Just make sure that you are centered in the frame and the background is not too bright (have light sources, like the sun, in front, not behind you) nor too busy/noisy. 
• Be clear, concise, and casual, as if you were helping a friend with a project in an area that you have a lot of background knowledge. 
• Make sure you designate the video as "private" access so that only those with the link may view it.

Tips:

• Use a screen capture extension to your browser. If you don't have one already installed, we use Awesome Screenshot on Chrome.
• Keep it simple and straightforward. Tell (and show) the read what is needed to accomplish the task.
• Annotating the graphics with an arrow, a label, or an outline often adds clarity and focus.
• Save the tipsheet as a PDF file and preview it before posting.

Tips:

• Test the link. Make sure it appears. Make sure it downloads as expected.
• You get to designate anything that needs to be defined for consistency that is not defined in the requirements in this exercise.
