Frequently Asked Questions
Get Your Year in Gear is a 2-week program with pre-work to get oriented. During the program, each participant should expect to devote about 4 hours in course work, 3-4 hours to complete the assignments, and 2 hours in group interactions.
Additional office hours are available so that your individual questions can be addressed.
All told, it will amount to about 7-8 hours total for two weeks broken up into small chunks. Very doable.
Follow the step-by-step instructions, work through the exercises to really own the new ideas and tools, and engage on the group calls with your wins and questions, and you will set yourself up for success. Try to take shortcuts, or wait until the last minute to complete work, or never ask questions when something doesn't make sense, or expect that you won't benefit, and you will get far less benefit from the experience.
Your colleagues will be working on the same topics and assignments alongside you, so you will have a shared community for support as well as accountability.
Expert feedback is one of the key features that will help you get the most from the Get Your Year in Gear program.
First of all, you will receive written feedback on each of your assignments.
Second of all, you will have ample opportunities to discuss the lessons and assignments in the group calls.
The "Get Started" call previews the week's assignments and answers any questions you have.
The "Application" call is where you share your wins and ask questions about how to apply the lessons and tools in your particular work situation.
Anyone is welcome to join the "Office Hours" call to ask a question or learn from what others are asking.
If you miss a Getting Started or Application call due to a schedule conflict, you can always listen to the replay in your learning portal.
The video conference call times are all in EST and are as follows during each week of the program:
- Tuesday: 11 am - 12:30 pm – Getting Started
- Thursday: 2-3:30 pm — Applications
- Thursday: 4-6 pm — Office Hours for Drop Ins
All are invited to participate in each call. Links are provided in the learning portal and detailed calendar invitations are sent to participants as part of the program pre-work.
A senior manager evaluates the program, discusses it internally, and makes the decision to enroll his or her team.
Enrollment is open until the week before a new cohort begins.
During that open enrollment period, you may enroll your company in the program as an individual to initiate the process.
To enroll, click the Join Now button on this page, select your preferred participant group size, and secure your spot with a nominal deposit via a secure credit card transaction. The balance will be invoiced and paid via ACH.
After you enroll your group, you will be asked to enter each person's contact info so we can set up an account and send a welcome message with instructions, links to group calls, and the schedule.
If you have a group of 10 or more that you want to participate at one time, you will find a choice on the enrollment page to indicate a custom enrollment.
We are happy to accommodate larger teams and our instruction is designed to scale. Best of all, when you run an Internet-based program, there are no back row seats — everyone has a seat at the learning table.
